Our Mission
In alignment with the goals and objectives of the overall department and the larger NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the mission of the Department of Neurology Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Program is:
- To maintain a broad and growing number of programs, policies, and practices that support the recruitment, training, and retention of a diverse and inclusive body of students, faculty, staff, and other members of our academic community, regardless of gender, age, culture, race, religion, disabilities, and sexual orientation.
- To educate and develop physicians of the highest caliber to focus on excellence in the delivery of safe, equitable, affordable, quality care; and to demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to the overall health and well-being of the diverse populations they will serve.
- To value the strength that a diverse and inclusive community of physicians brings to medical care.
