Dr. Michelassi is a Physician-Scientist specializing in neuromuscular disease. He received his BA from Columbia University and his MD-PhD from Weill Cornell Medical College. Research

Dr. Michelassi’s research interests focus on differential neuronal vulnerability of peripheral neurons. His research involves molecular genetics, immunohistochemical analysis and in vivo analysis of peripheral neuropathy. He has previously worked on the essential synaptic protein, Munc13, and a protein critical in SMA pathophysiology, Stasimon.
