Under the Radar, AI for Neurocritical Care Promises Transformative Progress

Neurology Today recently interviewed Dr. Soojin Park, Associate Professor of Neurology in Biomedical Informatics, about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Neurocritical Care settings. “The monitors measuring brain function are overwhelming in how much data they give you,” said Dr. Park. “We believe there is a lot of information within that data that is not captured the way we use it now.” Dr. Park recently received two large grants from the National Institutes of Health to further her research Program on Hospital and Intensive Care Informatics, which provides a framework to leverage such data into actionable information to improve quality of care for hospitalized patients.
