Jason Krellman, PhD, ABPP-CN, associate professor of neuropsychology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, comments on the importance of seeing a doctor for those concerned with a decline in their cognitive function. It is hard to distinguish between a normal aging process and cognitive changes due to a condition. “It may be nothing at all, it may be a treatable condition such as an infection, or it could be early signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease,” said Dr.Krellman.
